Reports: Ex-Tiger Marcus Thames signs with Yankees
I can't believe all the Yankees would give him is a non-roster contract. Don't they know that he would hit 40 HR's if were ever given full time AB's?
Somewhere tonight, Rod Allen is inconsolable.
February 8, 2010 http://detnews.com/article/20100208/SPORTS0104/2080404 Reports: Ex-Tiger Marcus Thames signs with Yankees
THE DETROIT NEWS
Former Tigers outfielder / designated hitter Marcus Thames has signed with the New York Yankees, multiple media outlets are reporting.
Sports Illustrated, attributing the information to sources, said Thames signed a non-roster contract that will pay him $900,000 with incentives if he makes the team.
Thames was released by the Tigers after the 2009 season. He hit .252 with 13 homers and 36 RBI in 258 at-bats last season.
He was with the Tigers for six seasons, and had 26 homers in 348 at-bats in 2006, and 25 in 316 in 2008.

Let's just hope he doesn't take it out on some undersized Japanese pitcher.
I also believe, that somewhere, WHB had a stroke when he realized that for certain games his outfield may consist of 2/3rds ex-Tigers.

But they have a real batting coach who will be able to get these guys to hit the way they are capable of hitting.

Since this is debated so much here, this will be a good experiment. Let's see if they actually improve with a new hitting coach. My guess is that they improve a little bit, but more because of the wimpy a.. stadium they play in.

The stroke? Can you still use your left arm and see out of both eyes Bonney?

Hopefully this whole deal is a non-issue and he doesn't make the team.

Oh no, this is Bonney's lucky day in that respect. Her famous extensions will probably be put onto Ebay where Bonney will dump his retirement into purchasing them. Then his real problems begin.... what to do with the hair? Its kind of hard to attach hair to an inflatable girlfriend. Could he extract DNA and clone a Kate girlfriend? Does Bosley offer mangina hair transplants? The possibilities are endless....

I already have some of her DNA,,, in a test tube on my shelf, under the shrine.
Edit: I double-checked that tube,, I think that's my DNA,, not hers..

[QUOTE=William H Bonney;3077036]I already have some of her DNA,,, in a test tube on my shelf, under the shrine.
Folks...this isnt a lie or just trying to be funny. I went over to his House (well, found out his his parents house) to pick him up to go fishing. Mom opened the door in a moo moo and offered me breakfast while he got ready...i say "no thankyou , but i'll have a cup of coffee." She gives me the coffee and says" he's down there" ---pointing to the basement. I head on down and hear the tv ...its reruns of Jon and Kate plus 8 on the vcr???? "i'm thinking seriously"---want to talk about a "shrine"... heck no , never saw so many pics of kate, signed books behind glass, lifesize pics on the door, candles burning all 1500sqft of it....even Kate slippers , signed letters and a pillow case...almost like she's sleeping next to you.---FREAKY...but it is what it is. + he's on her #1 fan website emailing her .
whb..dude , you are a cool cat and a good fisherman, but i dont think she's gonna go for a cat with a '93 xtended Aerostar. I know it will fit all the "8"..but might be time to find true love....its all i'm saying
